In year 2015, Rural Development department, Govt of Bihar had a huge task at hand- Verifying the physical status of house construction of each and every beneficiary under the Indira Aawas yojana( IAY). This was to be done in each and every village of the state.

FieldReports Solution
The consortium that was awarded the project, used Bizframe Technologies ‘s FieldReports solution for the purpose. The decision was made primarily due to the flexibility in the solution to accommodate changes in data capture forms or addition of newer formats as the survey progressed.
A significant decision was made to keep all inspections done by the system, in public domain.
This was done was to ensure accountability and inherent check on the process by citizens.
Bizframe team customized the FieldReports solution and hosted a custom branded app and dashboard for the department. The mobile app was installed and training was given to inspection personnels in each district.
More than 5000 field staff were trained to use the mobile app and conduct physical inspections.
The reports data and dashboard was hosted in public domain
Each and every report is geo tagged and contains images of the house construction progress on the day of inspection. Local authorities use the portal for daily monitoring of inspections done by the field staff. The reports also form a basis for taking up any issue related to funds disbursement and any dispute on status of work progress. Post extensive use in IAY, the same system is being used for ODF (open defecation free) program and monitoring the construction of toilets in rural houses.
